Tickets for Christopher Nolan’s ‘The Odyssey’ to Be Available a Year Ahead of Its Release

Oscar-winning director Christopher Nolan’s upcoming film, The Odyssey: A Journey Begins, is set to open for advance booking at select theaters in the U.S. on Thursday, exactly one year before its official release, according to reports.

It may be the first time in history that a movie has opened advance ticket sales this early—a full year or more prior to its theatrical debut.


Advance IMAX Bookings Begin July 17, 2025

According to U.S.-based news portal Variety:

  • IMAX tickets for The Odyssey will be available to purchase starting July 17, 2025.
  • The movie is officially set to release in cinemas on July 17, 2026.

Ticket Availability Details:

  • Advance tickets will be exclusive to IMAX 70mm screens and specific showtimes.
  • Tickets for other formats and general screenings will become available closer to the release date.

Exclusive Teaser and Filming Locations

The producers recently launched a one-minute teaser of The Odyssey, shown exclusively in theatres.

Filming Locations Include:

  • Italy
  • Morocco

Production on the film began earlier this year in these stunning Mediterranean and North African landscapes.


The Story and Star-Studded Cast

A loose remake of Homer’s ancient Greek epic, The Odyssey tells the story of:
