What Was the Incident When Anushka Slapped Ranbir?

Seeing Ranbir’s visible distress, Anushka went up to him to apologize. However, Ranbir was clearly disappointed.

Ranbir said: “There are some limits to it. I said don’t do it, it’s not a joke.”
Anushka replied: “Did I do it deliberately? Are you really upset?”

I slapped him.”

She went on to say:

“This scene is very long. It begins with us sitting still, talking, and then there’s one slap. But later, when it was my part, they said, ‘Don’t slap him for real.’
But I was so immersed in the scene that I forgot he had pleaded with me not to hit him.”

“Next thing, I gave him one across the face. He was like, ‘Why are you slapping me for real?’”

Anushka’s Clarification

Anushka added:

“It was none of that, and I promise you he is a very happy guy.
I was like, ‘I’ve slapped you in six different takes. Why would I be excited about slapping you again?’
But nakhra toh kar raha tha na, mujhse jhoot bol ke ghussa dikhata raha!”
